Grades for all degree candidates are due from instructors as stated on the Academic Calendar. The final degree evaluation process will be conducted the first business day after the day degree candidate grades are due. Once completed, results of this process are available in Howdy.

If a student clears and the degree(s) is awarded, a conferral date for the degree(s) will be posted on the student’s Academic Record and Unofficial Transcript or in Howdy via the Graduation Application and Status Check card. Per Student Rule 14.5 degree candidates that do not clear the initial process have until 5:00 p.m. the first Friday of the following term to clear all requirements for the degree to be awarded. Candidates not cleared by this date must reapply for graduation in a future term and pay the diploma fee again.

Fall 2026

Grades for all degree candidates are due at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2026. The final degree evaluation process will be conducted on the morning of Monday, December 14, 2026. Degree candidates can check their graduation status through Howdy using the Graduation Application and Status Check shortly after 2:00 p.m.

If a degree has been awarded, the “Degree Status” field on the Graduation Application and Status Check will display “Degree Conferred,” indicating the student has officially graduated. Students can also confirm their graduation status by reviewing the “Credential Awarded” section of their unofficial transcript in Howdy. If a “Conferral Date” is listed, the degree has been awarded.

Undergraduate and professional students with questions about their graduation status should contact their academic advisor. Graduate students should contact the Graduate and Professional School at grad@tamu.edu.

The results of the final degree evaluation process on Monday, December 14, 2026 will have no impact on a student’s ability to attend a Fall 2026 commencement ceremony. All that is required to attend the ceremony is an active Fall 2026 graduation application for the student’s respective degree program(s).

Degree candidates not clearing for graduation on Monday, December 14, 2026 will have until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2027 to clear all degree requirements. Candidates not cleared by this date will not be awarded a Fall 2026 degree and will need to reapply for graduation in a future term and pay the diploma fee again.

Financial Obligations
In addition to diplomas being withheld for candidates who do not pass the final degree audit, diplomas are also withheld from graduates who have failed to settle all financial obligations with the University in accordance with University and State rules. Students may review their account balance online to determine if there are any unsettled obligations that may prevent receiving their diplomas.
