The cost of attendance (COA) is an estimate of what it costs the typical student to attend Texas A&M University. These estimated numbers are based on costs published by Texas A&M University, student surveys, and local market data. Federal, state, and institutional financial aid cannot exceed this cost.  When comparing financial aid packages from other schools, make sure that you are comparing the total costs of attending that school and offered aid compared to the costs and aid offered from Texas A&M University.

Scholarships & Financial Aid defines enrollment statuses for fall/spring award periods as follows:

Undergraduate Students

Full-Time	12 or more credit hours
Three-quarter time	9 to 11 credit hours
Half-time	6 to 8 credit hours
Less than half-time	1 to 5 credit hours

Graduate Students

Full-Time	9 or more credit hours
Three-quarter time	7 to 8 credit hours
Half-time	5 to 6 credit hours
Less than half-time	1 to 4 credit hours

Professional Students
Fall and Spring

Full-Time	12 or more credit hours
Three-quarter time	9 to 11 credit hours
Half-time	6 to 8 credit hours
Less than half-time	1 to 5 credit hours

The estimated cost to attend Texas A&M for 2022-2023 is approximately $29,684 for in-state residents, which includes tuition and fees, housing and food, books, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses.

Texas A&M offers over $1.031 billion in financial assistance each year, which means many students’ out-of-pocket costs are much lower than the published cost of attendance. In fact, last year a student with a family income under $40,000 had an average out-of-pocket cost of about $11,098, and a student with a family income between $40,000 and $80,000 had an average out-of-pocket cost of about $13,583.
