All students are required to apply for their degree in order to receive their diploma. The application rule and process may be found on the Applying for Your Degree page of the graduation website.
All graduates who participate in the ceremony must wear the appropriate commencement attire and are required to wear the TAMU regalia for the degree they will be awarded. Please review the Things to Order for Ceremony page for additional information.
There is no advance rehearsal unless you have requested a special accommodation or otherwise noted for a specific commencement ceremony on the Graduation Schedule page.
Students will receive their diploma via mail after the ceremony if they submitted their graduation application on time, have met all degree requirements, and have cleared any financial obligations owed to the university. These students who pass the initial clearance can expect their diploma to ship two to three weeks after graduation. Students who clear after the initial clearance and before the final clearance deadline can expect their diploma to ship approximately two to three weeks after they clear and their degree is awarded. An email with tracking information will be sent to the graduate’s Texas A&M email account once the diploma ships.
The name printed on your diploma will be the name listed on your official student records at the time the degree is awarded. More information about the name change process can be found on the Personal Information Change page.
