An early college high school is a school designed so that students can earn both a high school diploma and either an Associate's degree or up to two years of credit toward a Bachelor's degree simultaneously.

To be eligible for the Greater Texas Foundation Aggie Scholars Program you must meet the following requirements:

• Be a graduate of an early college high school program recognized by Educate Texas,
• Submit the ApplyTexas Admissions and Scholarship Application or the Common App by the scholarship deadline of March 15. Students must also submit a Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR) in order to be considered for freshman scholarships, and
• Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 15.

Applicants who are offered a place in the cohort must have completed their application using the Common App by December 1. They also must have their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file by April 15 prior to their admission year to remain in the cohort. 

Consideration is given to academic achievement in a college preparatory curriculum within the context of a student's academic environment. Additional factors for selection include, but are not limited to: leadership, community service, special talents, first-generation college status, and academic achievement under difficult circumstances.

If you exceed your cost of attendance or demonstrated financial need your Greater Texas Foundation Aggie Scholarship may be reduced or eliminated that year. If your Greater Texas Foundation Aggie Scholarship is cancelled during your first year, you will not be eligible to receive the scholarship in future years. All outside resources and scholarships must be reported to Texas A&M University as soon as possible. To report an outside scholarship, you should submit the Student Data Form available at howdy.tamu.edu. Click the My Finances tab and enter the Financial Aid Portal.

To maintain eligibility, you must meet the following requirements:

• Participate in the GTF Aggie Scholars Learning Community;
• Attend orientation prior to the start of classes;
• Maintain a cumulative 2.50 or higher GPR each semester;
• Complete a minimum of 30 hours each Academic Year;
• Serve as a volunteer recruiter and university ambassador;
• Continue to possess financial need as defined by the Department of Education.
• All first year recipients must live on campus for the first year.

You will learn whether you were selected to receive the Greater Texas Foundation Aggie Scholarship in a letter from Scholarships & Financial Aid. You will be notified in the Spring of an estimated Greater Texas Foundation scholarship amount that could vary depending on your total financial aid package, including grants and outside scholarships.

We recommend that you complete the FAFSA by April 15.

No. Students attending Texas A&M University at Galveston are not eligible for the Greater Texas Foundation Aggie Scholars Program or scholarship due to the learning community component required of the scholarship. Only students attending Texas A&M University at College Station are eligible.

Yes, students qualifying as a resident student under HB 1403 or SB 1528 are eligible to receive the Greater Texas Foundation Aggie Scholarship. You must complete the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) by April 15.
