• You must be an entering freshman at Texas A&M University (College Station) who has not attended another college or university
• You must be from a state other than Texas (international students do not qualify for this award)
• You must be in the top 25% of your class
• You must be enrolled full-time

*Students that attend a non-ranking high school will be assigned a class rank based on the high school profile and reported grade point average.

Students eligible to receive a non-resident tuition waiver by earning at least $4,000 in competitive scholarships each academic year are not eligible for the Maroon Merit Scholarship. In order to provide scholarship opportunities to the greatest number of students, Texas A&M does not stack Academic Scholarships. If you qualify for more than one Academic Scholarship you will receive the highest dollar-value scholarship only.

You may qualify for Maroon Merit for up to four years (8 semesters). You must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPR and meet annual credit hour completion requirements.

Note: If at any point you become eligible for a non-resident tuition waiver or in-state residency, all future payments of this scholarship will be permanently terminated.
